What else has happened...

On 31 August, Cultural Funding kklick of the Canton of St. Gall invited to the network meeting #4 in Werdenberg. My writing mate Alice Gabathuler lives there; another reason to set off towards the East.

The day began in a fantastic way when Alice met me at the station in Buchs and we had lunch at the restaurant with one of the most beautiful views in the world. Afterwards we toiled up the hill to Werdenberg Castle in the summer heat.

kklick presented a number of cultural funding programmes around the main topic of
"museum". Two of those projects resonated especially strongly with me. Impressive: the arts project of one teacher who developed and created paintings with his class (their own compositions and copies of Old Masters). He also organised a vernissage and documented their experiences in an art book.

The reproduction of an archaeological dig in the castle cellar was another smash project. There, you can painstakingly excavate buried artefacts, document and specify them. The ultimate kick for a history buff like me.

As usual with such events, the icing on the cake was meeting all those interesting people. And, if nothing else, Alice always succeeds in charging up my batteries.
