Upcoming Events

"Lüthy, Balmer und Stocker" Nidaugasse, Biel branch
After the invitation to lead another workshop at the "Holiday Pass" in Lengnau, a few more interesting events are coming up.

The workshop "Cinema in Your Head – Story Writing" I was able to lead in Lengnau was fully booked but for one place. It was an absolute joy to be allowed to work with the young authors to be. As opposed to last year's crime writing workshop, we kept the brief more general this time. We talked, for example, about the 5 senses and how to put their impressions on paper. That took us, among other things, onto an eerie walk through an imaginary forest.

One event I'm particularly looking forward to will take place on Wednesday, 17.12.2014 from 15h onwards at the Lüthy and Stocker bookshop, Nidaugasse in Biel. Not only was I treated very considerately when I went to ask if they'd be interested in stocking a few copies of THE VENETIAN PEARLS, and allowed to leave 5 in commission. The man responsible for the English books also asked if I could imagine giving an event at their bookshop once the German version was out (!).
Place of honour at the "Lüthy, Balmer und Stocker" branch, Nidaugasse, Biel
I reminded him that readings by children's authors outside school are generally not very well attended. He knew that, he answered, but wouldn't it be nice to organise such a do shortly before Christmas, for example? Simply in the middle of the children's department, without any frills. They'd take care of the posters.

So I'm going to saddle my loud voice in December and will try to entrance the children with DIE VENEZIANISCHEN PERLEN.

The following events are planned until the end of the year:
22 October: Talk about "How is a Book Produced?", school in Lengnau
25 October: 16.00, Marathon-reading "Castle Stories", Oberhofen Castle by the Lake of Thun
10 November: Themed morning "Creative Writing", school Huttwil
14 November: Book launch party DIE VENEZIANISCHEN PERLEN (wait for details)
03 December: Reading and talk about THE VENETIAN PEARLS, Anglo-Swiss Club of Fribourg, at the "Phénix", Rue des Alpes, Fribourg
17 December: 15.00 onwards, reading at "Lüthy, Balmer und Stocker" book shop, Nidaugasse in Biel
