What else has happened...

The Solothurn Literature Days always take place from Assencion Day to the following Sunday. This year for the 34th time.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of AdS (Authors of Switzerland, link on list), our AGM took place in Solothurn.

After a scrumptuous brunch, the actual AGM and a fantastic concert by "Café Mondial", we attended the Schiller Award ceremony (this year awarded in this form for the last time). The "Grosse Schillerpreis" went to two titans of Swiss literature: Giovanni Orelli and Peter Bichsel.

There followed a wine reception in the park of Palais Besenval and the Schillerstiftung Dinner at the Concert Hall. Because of the unfortunate timing of the courses, quite a few AdS-Members who'd come by train already had to leave after the starter. (Fortunately, I only missed dessert.) Pity. The food was delicious.

The gathering of literature aficionados in front of the "Landhaus" (main venue) gives Solothurn during these days a mediterranean flair. Everybody is in good spirits.

Die Ansammlung Literaturbegeisterter vor dem Landhaus (Hauptschauplatz) verleiht Solothurn in diesen Tagen mediterranes Flair. Alle sind guter Laune.
